It’s been a busy few days, but I did manage to take a few photos (I have a list of things to photograph that I haven’t gotten around to yet), and some crafty things (you can see those below the photo thumbnails). The photos are of a few triffids in the sky, mostly roses, more of which can be found onĀ Flickr.
I’ve also been experimenting with a cheaty version of flower pressing. I just discovered that it’s possible to make pressed flowers by ironing them rather than leaving them for weeks in a book or a press (I also discovered a microwave method that looks nifty, but I don’t have any ceramic tiles to hand, I’ll need to buy some). I’m really impressed with the results, they turned out really vibrant. A lot of success and a lot of failures. I suspect that some would be better done the old fashioned way as they just don’t like the heat of the iron at all. I also noticed that a couple of flowers produced a really nifty impression in the paper after they’d been ironed. Looks like watercolours.

Related to crafts, I entered my keyrings made from ice cube trays and pony beads instructable in the casting contest. If you’re signed up with instructables and feel like giving me a vote, the link to do so is towards the bottom of the page between the instructable and the comments. Please and thank you!
